This is the Andromeda Galaxy, the closest major galaxy to the Milky Way. And by 'closest', I mean a whopping 2.9 million light years away! (Remember, light can go around the world three times in the blink of an eye!) Since space is on such a huge scale, that's actually pretty close compared to most galaxies, but I think this is one of the most beautiful of God's creations, and a pretty picture to look at :)
